Local Scholarships for Local Students
Union Chequers Bank is proud to assist new and continuing students in achieving their higher education goals in the communities we serve.
Applications are now closed.
We'll communicate with those who've received 2020-2021 scholarships in May.

Premier service Scholarship
Twenty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate dedication to creating a positive impact in their community.
Scholarships awarded may be used for tuition, books, and fees for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Eligibility:
- Be a Union Chequers Bank member in good standing by April 1, 2020
- Be a high school graduate or have a GED
- Attend an accredited college in Fall 2020
- Attend 9 or more credit hours, beginning the Fall 2020 semester or quarter
- Demonstrate service to the community
- Recipients may be awarded no more than twice
Be prepared to provide your most recent transcript and to write an essay based on prompts in the application.
Please note: These scholarships are not available to Union Chequers Bank employees or immediate family members of Union Chequers Bank's senior management team, Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee.
Larry Levine Memorial Scholarship
The Larry Levine Scholarship assists Douglas County students in completing their education and developing career opportunities even in the face of challenge.
The Premier service Larry Levine Annual Scholarship is a memorial scholarship in the name of writer and educator Assistant Professor Larry Levine, who was killed along with eight Umpqua Community College students in 2015.
One scholarship up to $3,500 will be awarded each year to cover tuition, books, and fees for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Eligibility:
- Be a Douglas County resident
- Attend Umpqua Community College in Fall 2020
- Be a Union Chequers Bank member in good standing by April 1, 2020
- Be a high school graduate or have a GED
- Attend school 9 or more credit hours for 2020 Fall semester
- Demonstrate service to the community
- Previous recipients may not apply
